Save the pet sitter for another time. Santa Cruz is dog-friendly and offers a variety of lodging to accommodate visitors traveling with their pets. Highlighted here are a few Santa Cruz hotels that roll out the welcome mat for the whole family.

It’s a ruff life at Chaminade Resort & Spa where dogs are greeted with open arms, treats, and access to the resort’s restaurant patios. There’s a Pooch Patio Menu with a variety of appetizing options that even the humans will be drooling over. Sensational Salmon, Peanut Butter Bacon Pup Cakes, and Raw Ground Beef Muttballs are just a few doggie favorites. Don’t forget to explore the convenient 3+ miles of trails onsite where your pup can sniff through the eucalyptus and redwoods. Chaminade charges a $150 per dog cleaning fee for this unforgettable puppy retreat.

Lovers of big breeds take note. There’s room at the newly renovated Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley for your 75-pound fur ball. The hotel’s pet-friendly package includes a fluffy bed, food and water bowls, a placemat and a welcome treat for a nonrefundable pet fee of $50. Just up the road is Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park where dogs can walk their owners on designated trails. And a big bonus, you are just over a mile away from the dog park at Skypark, arguably the best puppy playground in Santa Cruz County!

See Spot run on the beach when you stay at Ocean Echo Inn & Cottages. Tucked in a classic Santa Cruz neighborhood, the Echo sits a few blocks back from Sunny Cove beach and about a mile from Santa Cruz Harbor. You and your pooch will love waking up to the ocean air each morning. Be sure to head about a mile south to the scenic Pleasure Point area where you can enjoy a gorgeous coastal walking path. There is a $50 pet fee, per pet, per night, which includes a doggy towel and bowl for the beach and a biscuit! Two dog maximum per room and 50 pound max per pet.

First impressions are everything and Hotel Paradox’s sleek design will immediately grab your attention. Although your pooch might appreciate the urban forest aesthetic, we’re guessing he’s going to be a whole lot more impressed with the Charlee Bear Treats offered at check in. This stylish boutique hotel is a short walk to Downtown Santa Cruz, parks, and dog-friendly patio dining, and a less than 5 minute car ride to West Cliff DriveMitchell’s Cove Beach and Lighthouse Field State Beach. Be sure to enjoy the delicious offerings of the hotel’s onsite restaurant, Solaire, by ordering room service with your pup. There is a $50 cleaning fee.
