If you are not familiar with cyclocross, it is a special breed of insanity that blends well with Santa Cruz quirky!  Think of the kinds of races that have obsticals to force the racer into picking up their bike and carrying it.  You will see these racers punishing themselves on the local mountains and hills.  They will choose their own race route, since they can’t possibly hit all of the checkpoint challenges (and earn/bribe for tokens) during the alloted race time.

In an effort to punish themselves further, there will be a party at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Cocoanut Grove Ballroom that is open to the public.  Go party with them and make sure they don’t get enough rest before the big race!
