Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium: Symphonic Shakespeare

Charles Pasternak, the Artistic Director of Santa Cruz Shakespeare joins the Santa Cruz Symphony for Symphonic Shakespeare.  William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616) has inspired many artists, including: 

  • Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who composed Romeo & Juliet Overture-Fantasy in 1880 
  • Felix Mendelssohn, who composed Overture for A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1842 
  • Anna Clyne, who composed Sound and Fury in 2019 

Hear this dramatic great music inspired by dramatic great plays and perhaps find inspiration of your own!   

On Saturday, March 29, they will be performing at the Civic Auditorium at 7:30pm, and on Sunday, March 30, they will be performing at the Henry J. Mello Center at 2:00pm.
