Quarry Amphitheater: Drain and Friends

April 18 @ 7:00 pm10:00 pm PDT

Head to the Quarry Amphitheater to see hardcore punk band, Drain in their hometown! The intense crossover trash sound was formed right here in Santa Cruz and will be joined by bands No Pressure, Haywire and Secret World. Dolphin shorts and boogie boards are optional but encouraged. “When people come to Santa Cruz, they’re like, ‘Oh, I get it, DRAIN looks like what this town looks like. We also sound like what you expect Santa Cruz to sound like,” says the front man, Sammy Ciaramitaro, touching on their home’s penchant for surfing and skating.

The Quarry Amphitheater was carved from a former limestone quarry in the 1960’s. The unique terraced asymmetrical design allows for amazing sightlines as you thrash with towering redwoods all around you. You won’t want to miss seeing Drain at this venue!

Locals Love: The unique venue.
First Timers Miss: Bringing a blanket or towel to keep comfortable in a redwood micro-climate.
Insights: The Quarry Amphitheater is inside UCSC, so parking fees and lot usage are unpredictable. There are public e-bike stations on campus and throughout Santa Cruz and Capitola. Watch to see if a rally bus is available for the event.
