Following its 2023 debut, Broadsides No. 2 returns this fall to M.K. Contemporary Art with a dynamic exploration of the connection between poetry and visual art. Nine nationally recognized poets are paired with nine distinguished visual artists, creating collaborative works that highlight the interplay between image and language.
Enjoy the opening reception and live poetry reading, featuring works by artists Randy Beckelheimer, Glenn Carter, Linda Christensen, David Fleming, Melissa Kreisa, Quinn Peck, Margaret Rinkovsky, Rose Sellery, and Bobby Williams. Poets include Killarney Clary, Nancy Miller Gomez, Lee Herrick, Stephen Kessler, Robin Magowan, Tom Meschery, Magdalena Montagne, Ayaz Pirani, and Todd Turnidge.
Presented with support from The Humanities Institute and Special Collections & Archives at UC Santa Cruz, this Broadsides No. 2 invites audiences to experience how poetry and visual art, together, can create something greater than either form alone.
