Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park boasts four distinct ecosystems: redwood forests, grasslands, river/riparian habitats, and the unique Santa Cruz Sandhills. Want to experience them all first hand? Look no further than this diverse trail through an old-growth redwood forest and Sandhills habitat that can only be found in Santa Cruz County. On this 3-hour hike, you will gain 500 feet over 4.5 miles. The elevation gain is worth it! You’ll have incredible views of the Monterey Bay! Please go prepared with good walking shoes and plenty of water and snacks. Plan to meet your guide in front of the Visitor Center at 10:00 am. Follow the link in the orange button above to sign up for free!
Although this event is free, parking at state parks costs $10 per vehicle. Hold on to that receipt! Once you have paid for parking at one state park for the day, you have paid for them all, and there are 14 state parks in Santa Cruz County alone!
