Be a Citizen Scientist at Big Basin Redwoods State Park
Join the Earth Day BioBlitz at Big Basin Redwoods State Park and help document how the forest is recovering after the 2020 wildfire. You will search for and record plants, animals, fungi, and insects within the park. Bring your smartphone with the iNaturalist app installed, plus your curiosity and powers of observation.
Participation is free, however, a $10 vehicle day-use fee will be charged upon arrival, or you can reserve a parking spot by clicking here. Hold on to that receipt! Once you pay for parking at 1 state park, you have paid for parking at all of them. There are 14 in Santa Cruz County alone!
Please plan to meet at the temporary visitor center area located next to the restrooms. Bring your own water or purchase water from Parking Kiosk as there is no running water, electricity or cell service at Big Basin!
