Enjoy a gentle 1 to 2 mile walk to learn all about banana slugs! Click the orange button above to register. Plan to meet at the temporary visitor center located next to the restrooms at 9:45 am. Bring your own water, or purchase water at the parking kiosk, as there is no running water, electricity or cell service at Big Basin.

Participation is free, but it costs $10 to park at the oldest California State Park. Hold on to that receipt! Once you have paid for one state park, you have paid for all of them, and there are 14 in Santa Cruz County alone!
