The Santa Cruz Symphony will be performing:  Antonín Dvořák: Symphonie no. 8, which was composed when Dvořák was elected to the Bohemian Academy of Science, Literature and Arts in 1899. He wanted it to be a stark difference from his usual stormy romantic pieces and adapted this piece from cheery and lyrical Bohemian folk music.
