Overview

The free admission Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center is just steps from the Santa Cruz Wharf and Beach Boardwalk. The Exploration Center features engaging interactive and multimedia exhibits to immerse you in the remarkable underwater environment of the sanctuary.

Visitors can drive an underwater submersible, feed a turtle jellyfish and guide it on its journey across the Pacific or go anywhere in the world via Google’s Liquid Galaxy. It’s a wonderful experience for friends and families, and is enjoyed by all ages!

Tours:
Docent-led, or self guided tours are available for groups. You can schedule a free tour ahead of time by emailing us!

Toddler Time:
Bring the little ones by for our docent-led storytelling, arts and crafts every Wednesday at 10am. Friendly for all ages, geared towards ages 0-8yrs old.

Rentals:
Use our spacious multipurpose room to host a meeting, or rent out the whole building for a party, or wedding! Email us for inquiries.
