Since the beginning, our mission has been to craft distinctive wines from mountain-grown fruit. Our name, “Left Bend,” refers to the slight leftward bend in the San Andreas fault, which helped form the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Left Bend is a collaboration between winegrower Richard Hanke and winemaker Gary Robinson. Richard and Gary met and became friends while cycling the back roads throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains. Their passion for local, mountain-grown fruit and structured, age-worthy wines, evolved from this shared experience of exploring the rugged beauty of the local hills and canyons.
