Welcome to our Downtown Santa Cruz location: Big Basin Vineyards Tasting Room & Wine Bar. Located at 525 Pacific Avenue at the Front Street junction. We offer a variety of wines with two different tasting flights, wines by the glass and bottle, local beers and non-alcoholic drink options, and a food pairing menu that offers an array of small plate options to satisfy various preferences. We have various seating options, including our signature redwood bar, couches, indoor tables, and outdoor fire pits and tables. We can accommodate groups of various sizes, but we request that you make a reservation for any party size over six or more. We can also host private events with an indoor capacity of 42 and outdoors of 40+.
A little about our winemaking & food offering:
We farm organically and practice minimal intervention to capture the exceptional nature of the ocean-influenced, mountain vineyards we work with. Our wines receive high marks from various international wine critics and are considered among the best in the Santa Cruz Mountains and beyond (three times on the Wine & Spirits Magazine Top 100 Wineries of the World list). We produce Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, and Riesling for our whites, and Pinot Noir, Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and other reds.
This same grape-to-glass mentality is something we wanted to mirror when creating a food menu to enjoy alongside our wines. Argentinian Empanadas are our house specialty, along with small bites, traditional Mediterranean tapas, and a delectably curated Cheese and Charcuterie board. We have various options to pair with our wines and satisfy your appetite and dietary restrictions. We have a little something for everyone to elevate their wine experience.
