DESTINATION CONCIERGE

The part-time Destination Concierge works directly with the visiting public in the visitors center, providing visitor information over the telephone and in person, as well as providing office support when needed.

This position’s key areas of responsibility include:

  1. Providing on-site visitor services and answering phone to facilitate inquiries.
  2. Keeping accurate records of on-site visitors and telephone inquiries for entry into visitor database.
  3. Maintaining organization and professional appearance of visitor center at all times.
  4. Working weekends and holidays. This staff person may fill in for other Visitors Center staff during pre-planned vacation time, as well as when other Visitors Center staff takes sick/PTO days.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have some experience working in an office environment. The right candidate will be friendly, service-oriented, and a highly organized professional who enjoys working with the public. Strong computer skills required using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, including the ability to accurately and efficiently conduct various database entry duties. Good writing skills required and ability to type at least 45 wpm. Candidate must be comfortable multi-tasking between job duties on a daily basis and be able to work independently on assigned tasks. The candidate must have the ability to understand and follow company policy and procedures. Possess ability to lift 50 pounds, as well as to reach above head to access office supplies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Destination Concierge is responsible for providing friendly and helpful information over the phone and at the visitor center front desk. The Destination Concierge supports the Director of Operations during the week and on the weekend with various clerical duties as necessary such as web checks, database entry, and answering business calls.

JOB DUTIES

Visitor Services & Office Assistance
  1. Provides visitor information to the public
  2. Serves as receptionist in visitor center for visitor and business office calls
  3. Logs all visitor related inquiries in database
  4. Maintains Visit Santa Cruz County (VSCC) partner area brochure inventory for visitor center use
  5. Facilitates friendly and immediate response to visitor requests
  6. Continually seeks to improve and provide the highest standards of visitor services with emphasis on friendliness and professionalism
  7. Proactively seeks to stay informed of visitor and community information
  8. Maintains professional appearance of visitors’ center/reception area/common office areas
  9. Conducts weekly web checks as assigned, helping to ensure that all areas of the web site are “touched” internally at least once a month for functionality and accuracy
  10. Other duties deemed appropriate by Supervisor
