VSCC Announces New Look for 2018 Traveler’s Guide

Featuring a new design and a more user-friendly size, Visit Santa Cruz County (VSCC) announces the release of the 2018 Official Santa Cruz County Traveler’s Guide. The guide is a true reflection of the Santa Cruz lifestyle, presented in a more portable size, a departure from the standard magazine format while still providing timely and useful destination editorial and bold new photography:  all combined to deliver an inspirational, one-of-a-kind publication.

New feature stories are presented in a “Meet the Makers” section, focusing on local chefs, and micro-destinations within the county like Abbott Square Market, and the new Craftbar at Annieglass Studios. Farmer’s markets, arts and culture, wildlife, beaches, state parks, and other visitor draws are also included.  The annual publication features enhanced area maps, and dining and lodging listings highlighting the amenities offered by various restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfast inns, motels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds.

Supported by over 100 advertisers throughout the county, the guide is distributed at countywide attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping areas, and at key locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Pier 39, Mineta-San Jose International Airport, the Moscone Center, and other locations in Monterey, San Jose, and San Mateo.  The guide is also utilized at international travel trade, industry, and media events, and is sent to over 20,000 potential visitors annually upon request.  Using NXTbook’s interactive technology, Web site visitors who log on to can view and download the full guide or select pages.  Completely interactive, the electronic guide enables potential visitors to click through to advertisers' Web sites, and view fun videos as well.  A free copy of the guide can be ordered online, by calling 800.833.3494 or by stopping by the year-around visitor center at 303 Water Street in Santa Cruz.

VSCC worked in producing the guide with design group Paper Moon Creative. The cover photo features local artist September Wren’s depiction of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s colorful Ferris wheel against a robin’s-egg blue sky.
