The University of California Santa Cruz has unveiled a renovated outdoor venue. Prior to the University’s establishment in 1965, this on-campus working quarry served as a main supplier of limestone to San Francisco post-Gold Rush. Events held here include but are not limited to: concerts, keynote speeches and other sizeable performances. The amphitheater features bench seating facing a large stage. Meeting planners can book this outdoor space as a special event venue, holding up to 2,600 people standing and 2,300 people sitting. The UC Santa Cruz campus is also home to an arboretum, including California Redwood trees native to the area.
