What happens when you mix meeting planners, Santa Cruz Conference Partners, and a day full of adventure from the redwoods to the sea? Answer: fresh event inspiration, new perspectives, and smiling faces!
In mid-September, VSCC hosted their Redwoods to the Sea FAM trip. With a total of 28 meeting planners and VSCC Conference Partners in attendance, the whole day was a hit! The group began the morning at Roaring Camp Railroads and traveled by train through some of the most historic redwood trees in the world, reaching up to 200 feet tall and some aging over 1,900 years old. The train was on a mission through the redwoods to the sea to drop the group off at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. They walked past the iconic seaside amusement park which features California’s oldest wooden roller coaster, The Giant Dipper, to Ideal Bar & Grill where they enjoyed an ocean view lunch. After lunch, the group hopped aboard the Santa Cruz Trolley, reminiscent of the ones found in San Francisco, and headed to the Santa Cruz Harbor for a private sail with Chardonnay Sailing Charters. The weather was divine and the breeze in your hair was the perfect way to live in the moment. Once back to port, the trolley took the group back to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk train station where they rode back through the redwoods to Roaring Camp Railroads! The day was filled with joy, fresh air, and adventure.
VSCC Conference Partners in attendance were Hilton Santa Cruz – Scotts Valley, Chaminade Resort & Spa, Dream Inn Santa Cruz, Hotel Paradox, Ideal Bar & Grill, Chardonnay Sailing Charters, and Roaring Camp Railroads.
