Summer Cool with My Weekend In Santa Cruz

Photo by @vinovixen84 at the Crow's Nest

With the recent heat advisories happening all around the Central Valley, Santa Cruz County decided to cash in on those mild coastal temps. And lucky for visitors and locals, there were lots of classic oceanside events happening all weekend long to entertain! Check out a few of the best pics from the weekend, and don’t you worry, I got the redwoods covered in this week’s edition of #MyWeekendInSantaCruz!

Weekend of June 23 thru June 25

Perfect kick-off to a summer weekend in Santa Cruz? How about FRIDAY NIGHT’S BANDS ON THE BEACH brought to you by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!

WOODIES ON THE WHARF is a summer favorite. The classic surf wagons embody the Santa Cruz surf vibe, and that Monterey Bay backdrop isn’t half bad either.

PLEASURE POINT was feeling quite festive this weekend with their 4th annual Pleasure Point Street Fair. Don’t fret if you missed the event; Pleasure Point is ALWAYS worth a visit. Just look at this Sunday afternoon view!

CAPITOLA VILLAGE has its roots in beachside resort, and that endless summer / endless vacation vibe is hard to shake! Be sure to watch for summer favorites like Wednesday night Twilight Concerts and Sunday Art & Music at the Beach.

And lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the epic conditions at Fall Creek right now. I was lucky enough to hike the Big Ben / Fall Creek Trail this weekend; an 8.2 mile round trip hike with approximately 1,800 feet of elevation. The 75 degree weather, lush forest, and flowing creeks and streams are a great way to escape the major heat and hustle of the work week!
