City of Santa Cruz Receives Gold-Tier Award as Bicycle-Friendly Community
Citing its strong infrastructure, cycling education programs and the fact that 10 percent of its population bikes to work on the sixty percent of Santa Cruz’s arterial streets which have bike lanes, the City of Santa Cruz was honored with a Gold Award by the League of American Bicyclists. Awards range from platinum level to bronze level, with the league’s rankings announced each fall and spring. This bicycle-friendly community award was given to only three other destinations in the state - San Francisco, Palo Alto and San Luis Obispo - and is one of 24 in the entire country. Ride on!
