Santa Cruz Warriors Back in Action at Kaiser Permanente Arena
D-League basketball might sound like a lowly place to be on the totem pole of sports teams, but it turns out the "D" stands for "Development" and the players are only one step below the NBA. This makes it very exciting for Santa Cruz to have its very own D-League basketball team, the Santa Cruz Warriors. After last year's successful inaugural season, the Warriors are back for Season 2, with Opening Night taking place at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Friday, November 22.
Judging from a jump in season ticket sales, players can expect a lot of new fans to join the returning crowds that enjoyed last year's Warrior experience: professional basketball and half-time entertainment in an affordable, fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
KP Arena's proximity to local attractions is a real treat for visitors who want to catch a game and take advantage of all that Santa Cruz has to offer. Downtown Santa Cruz, the beach, Boardwalk and Wharf are all within walking distance, providing a variety of venues to dine, shop and play. If you're planning an overnight visit on game night, look no further than Hotel Paradox, the official Housing Sponsor of the Santa Cruz Warriors.
